We live very close to Mrs Marty's, so it's really convenient for breakfast! Great variety and very tasty food! We went for breakfast recently and they had no issue with me modifying a menu item to my taste. Everything was fresh and tasty and well- presented. A few weeks back I met a friend there for lunch. I'm happy to report that lunch is just as good as breakfast! Friendly service, good coffee.

What does Mrs. Marty think she is serving over there that entitles her to charge obscene prices for mediocre deli fare produced at tortoiselike speeds? To be fair, I wanted to visit this place twice before I reviewed it. After waking up on a Sunday, my girlfriend and I felt like egg sandwiches. For some reason, on the Main Line, if you don't want microwaved eggs at Dunkin or the pre-made "egg" mix you get at Wawa, it is nearly impossible to find a simple egg sandwich at a reasonable price like those offered at delis on nearly every suburban corner in New York and New Jersey. I settled on Mrs. Marty's despite remembering the obscene prices from the first time I visited. Maybe I got I a complicated sandwich that time, I told myself. Maybe it was the egg whites that drove the bill to $18 for two egg sandwiches and a coffee. But no, the second time at Mrs. Marty's I ordered a very standard egg sandwich (ham, egg, and cheese on a kaiser roll), a coffee, and a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese for my girlfriend. For this, the bill was over $12. The receipt is not itemized so I'm actually wracking my brain to figure out how on Earth a bagel, an egg sandwich and a coffee add up to over $12. Even if the egg sandwich was an obscene $6, the bagel would have to be at least $4 to leave $2-something for coffee. No matter how you slice it, it's astoundingly expensive for what you get. Both times, the simple to-go order took incredibly long to make. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes for my food on the second occasion, the cashier asked if I minded that my egg sandwich was on a long sub roll and not the kaiser roll I ordered. I asked if they had kaiser rolls and she replied that they did, but that she pressed the wrong button on the computer so it was now on a sub roll. Too starving to begin the whole process again, I accepted the sub roll and left. My girlfriend's bagel was cold and hard and the cream cheese was actually in a cold square that you could lift up with ease, completely unspread (see picture).

Words you should never have to hear while trying to eat brunch: abortion, death penalty and rape. While I picked through the severely mediocre food (driest eggs ever) I had to listen to the staff loudly discuss their political views. If that wasn't bad enough, my waitress never once asked if I wanted more coffee or how my food was. I had to waive down a different waitress for more coffee and to get the check. I will never go back there.

Best banana chocolate chip pancakes I have ever had and reasonable in price!! Great place. Friendly servers and a great vibe. Will definitely be back!

The food is not bad but the portions are small and the prices are high.

Mrs. Marty's Bryn Mawr is now under new management. I think Mrs. Marty is taking back management\ownership of this branch and so far I am very pleased with the changes. I mainly go here for breakfast and always enjoy the food and service. The new management is making some nice changes so far. For one, the dessert case is now stocked! For a while there were just a few slices of cake in the entire cooler, now there are cakes and puddings in addition to slices of cake really filling out the cooler. Looks much more appealing. They also make fresh veggie cream cheese which is quite tasty, and now have a larger variety of baked goods for sale at the counter. They actually got rid of the specials! This which had pretty much taken over the artwork in the store with the advertising for said specials. Not sure if they plan on introducing new ones yet, but I hope to find out soon! The new management is stepping up, obviously proud of the name Mrs. Marty! Service and quality is up since the change in management, lets hope the trend continues!

The Reverend Dr. Steak and I happened upon this restaurant after dropping the Young 'Un off at one of his 10,000,000 activities. We're always game for a new breakfast spot. We weren't game with Mrs. Marty's. The space is clean, well lit and reasonably comfortable with many 2 and 4 tops available. Service was decent, if a little scattered and disjointed (it was not overly crowded though there were others there). The food was just...underwhelming. First, pet peeve. Hot Chocolate served with "whipped topping (AKA Cool Whip in an aerosol can)" is disgusting. Pile of white grease on top of my cocoa. Ugh. Spend the extra twenty cents to buy real whipped cream, would ya? French toast was fine. Belgian waffle was...chewy. Rubbery. Not interested in absorbing butter or syrup. Odd. In a not really appetizing way. No SOS on the menu either. That's fine. I don't think this place will make the rotation of breakfast spots for us. It really was just, well, 'meh'.

As the previous reviewer was talking about, the main line lacks good diners. There are quite a few, but not as good as Marty's Deli. The food prices, go according to the real estate value of main line. The service is good and food is better than the diners around. Perfect for weekend brunch and it doesn't really take a bite of your wallet. Highly recommended.

Food was OK. Cup of Chicken Noodle was loaded with chicken, vegetables and noodles but bland. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich was decent but could have used more ham. Included pickle and bag of chips.Iced tea was fresh made. Service was OK but it was off peak. The price was ridiculous - $15. If you charge those high prices you should be worth it. I didn't feel it was.

The best deli on the main line. Great corned beef special. My wife had the lox and bagels. We both really enjoyed our meals. I don't understand why it isn't more crowded. Kind of a hidden gem. It is very clean. Great service. This is so much better than Hymies and puts Murray to shame. Great location. Great convenient real Jewish deli.

Grossly overpriced for average deli fare. I paid $12.29 for a hot brisket sandwich on my latest trip that was decent but nothing to write home about. They will also charge extra for fries and other add-ons. The place unsure whether it wants to serve you to-go or in house. If you order to go you are bound to wait a good 10 minutes and will have to awkwardly shuffle around other customers. If you are looking for a highly stacked pastrami on rye, you will be sorely disappointed. I have given this place three tries now because it is so conveniently located, but this latest trip will be my last. Go to Murrays or Hymies on Montgomery Ave. - better food and more value for your dollar.

Very disappointed. The sandwich I got was not the large overstuffed corned beef I expected for $10. The meat was a little dry. The kinish was very average. I don't think I will be returning.

Bryn Mawr needs breakfast places. The people who work here are nice and the food is good and they serve breakfast all day long. I am giving this place 5 stars because they exist and there is no pretentious attitude and the food is consistent.

This place is finally getting itself together, which is good, because the first year was scary. If you went here and remember a bad time, do yourself a favor and give them another chance. It seems that there was a housecleaning of massive proportions here, which was entirely necessary. Staff are now friendly and attentive but not fawning - just about right for a diner or deli. The interior presentation is much better, although the window still looks a bit dodgy (guys, the skewed lottery placards just doesn't look good) and the neon OPEN sign is often left on, which is not a great thing when you're trying to win back customers. The food is a touch pricey but generally excellent. They're still missing some details (pickle wedge for a bagel and lox plate, please?) but they've come a long way in two years. I'm hoping their efforts don't prove to be too little, too late - Bryn Mawr needs a place like this, even though their location doesn't do them too many favors.

This was my first visit to Mrs Marty's deli and it was a little disappointing. We could really use a good breakfast place in Bryn Mawr but I'm not eager to eat here again. It was definitely more expensive than other breakfast places and the food was mediocre. For bagels it is fine but for cooked food there are much better options.

Very solid deli in Bryn Mawr with overstocked deli sandwiches, potato pancakes, and the typical sides (think matzo soup, kasha, knishes, etc.). It's not exactly a diner but almost serves that purpose because your other option is IHOP, which doesn't really satisfy that craving. I had the Bottomless Pit, which is the version of the Pit With a Bottom for well, pigs like yours truly. It came with two perfectly cooked sunny-side up eggs with delicious, semi-cooked soft yolks, 2 pancakes, 2 crispy bacon strips, 2 pieces of scrapple, extra crispy home fries (per my request), and a bagel (requested that instead of plain toast). While it was pretty typical, with regards to flavor and portion, the service was great and I LOVED that they were more than happy to only semi-cook my eggs. Most places insist on cooking the yolks completely through...which makes me insist on not eating fully cooked egg yolks. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the home fries were hot and crispy (I'm the opposite with homefries: the crispier, the better; try them mixed with the soft yolk - it's delicious). It's about $9 pre-tip for the platter, which is pretty decent for the amount of food and the area. It's not gourmet cuisine but Mrs. Marty's doesn't pretend to be; it's a good deli with friendly service and solid breakfast food (haven't tried the sandwiches or entrees). And no, I did not finish the entire platter. It's actually big enough to share between two people, so if you are set on finishing your entire plate, I would order the Pit With a Bottom, which only comes with one of everything. Gotta love the names, too. If you are eating in, I highly recommend just reading through the menu; it's definitely loaded with plenty of dry humor. Will update once I try the lunch/dinner/actual deli offerings.

Have been here twice, just to be fair before I reviewed it. Both times I was with my well behaved two year old, and the wait staff was LOVELY to her. But the food is really just awful. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and fries one time and they were deep fried cardboard. I'm pretty easy going about what my daughter eats when we are out, but this really pushed my limits. And they were oozing with oil. I tried the fries and chicken out of morbid curiosity and they were disgusting. My daughter had a stomach ache after we left, about which I feel badly, still. On one trip I got the matzoh ball soup, which was fine. Not good, not bad, just neutral. I got a burger on another trip, and it was made from poor quality ingredients. Just fat and filler and yuck. The bread and bagels at the counter look decent if you need to get something basic to go, but the food here is really awful. So sad, especially because the setting is nice enough and the staff is great (they are what earned the place a second star).

Sometimes the strangest of circumstances can lead you to find a nice little place to eat. After a very strange weekend, the wholesome goodness of Mrs. Marty's Deli was a pleasant new find to dine at. Atmosphere - The hustle and bustle of the entry way when you first walk in for breakfast can be overwhelming. With one small area for take out orders, bagel orders, and waiting guests to dine, it was a bit of a surprise when you first walk in. Luckily, an older gentleman working at the restaurant flagged us down and showed us to a cozy booth. Very busy and classic feel inside. Nearly everyone walking around working there walk with a purpose. Orders come out fresh and quick and clean up was done in a snap. Waitstaff - Our waitress Dee, was the epitome of a waitress. Fancy glasses with a chain, hair pulled back, like something you'd find in a classic American novel. She knew the menu well and recommended some changes to make our meal more enjoyable. As mentioned, the older gentleman who sat us (I believe is names 'Sid'), had some classic dry humor (think Stadler and Waldorf from the muppets). Charming and fun once you've had your first beverage to start the day. Food - My wife raved about her meal called the 'Pit with a bottom'. Came with eggs, bacon, a pancake and scrapple which went to me. Not to mention home fries and toast, perfect size meal in a small plate dining environment. Pancakes to her, were more the sweeter variety and she really enjoyed it. I went with a Ham/Cheese omelette w/home fries. It was good, not really to rave about, but definitely par for the course with other breakfast places. Scrapple though was very nice, with a nice crisp on the outside, but tender on the inside. We will go back to try out the lunch/dinner menu at some point as well. Intangibles - What made the difference for this place between being a three versus a four star review. Everyone is super nice and friendly, and while the food for breakfast was decent, the little perks were nice. Specifically, on Sunday they gave out lottery tickets for all men (Father's Day) as just an added bonus for dining. That was a really nice touch! There are two other locations in Media and Bryn Mawr if you don't feel like making the trek to Springfield in the morning. Overall - If you appreciate a fast paced atmosphere with some decent breakfast, Mrs. Marty's deli is a pretty good option over the other choices at the Lawrence Park Center. We'll be going back to check out lunch or dinner, but breakfast is definitely a win for those who like to go out instead of cook at home.

Mrs. Marty's may see itself as a New York style Jewish deli but I find it bodiless and something rather anemic. The service is pleasant, the place is clean, but the sandwiches look like they were made by Main Line Anglo women whose claim to culinary fame is lemons squares. The lunch menu offers uninspired and lean servings. Nothing here resembles what you might find in New York or even at the 4th Street Deli in Philadelphia. Now, I don't need enormously stacked layers of pastrami or corned beef. But, I would like to see something with at least some substance. Even across the way Tango you can find a far better sandwich (not to mention setting) for just about one dollar more. I would really like to like Marty's but is about as dull as you can get.

This location: New, spotlessly clean, super friendly service (though at times server disappears for long time, but always friendly upon return). Food is always simple and good. It's a breakfast event here. As far as lunch/dinner - in the world of Jewish delis, let's face it - Hymie's takes the piss out of all the others on the Main Line. But Mrs. Marty's gets portion sizes right and at the right prices. I will continue to eat there regularly. I also think their chicken rice soup is fantastic!

Service: OK, but not very professional...maybe that's supposed to add charm? It doesn't. Food really surprisingly so-so. Pretty tasteless matzo-ball soup. Corned beef and pastrami (which are really the test of a "kosher-style" deli) were passable but nowhere near what that style usually delivers. Very convenient, but sadly I won't be going back.

Wanted to find a good breakfast place and trying to find someplace descent on the Main Line is tough. For just over $10, I got the bacon and cheese omelette, home fries, toast, and coffee. The food, service, and atmosphere were all good. My pet peeve though - home fries that are deep fried. I know it is probably easier, but they are just not as good. I will be going back at some point to try other items.
